CURRENT STATUS: Junior synonym of Amictus Wiedemann, 1817 [ teste Evenhuis & Greathead (1999: 229) ].

FAMILY: BOMBYLIIDAE .

REMARKS: The original type designation is made by virtue of the plate legend indicating that the figure is of the type of the genus.

EMENDATIONS: Thlypsomyza Rondani, 1863: 72 (unjustified).
