Chrysops caecutiens View in CoL is one of the common species in Europe and Asia ( Chvála et al. 1972). It is distributed throughout Europe, Turkey, and Iran, as well as through Russia to Mongolia and China ( Abbassian-Lintzen 1964). This species was recorded from Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine among the Arab countries in the Middle East. In Jordan, it was collected from the Mediterranean part of the North ( Müller et al. 2011).
