This species has Palearctic and Afro-tropical affinity. According to kiliç (2001) and Portillo (2002) it was recorded from Spain through Mediterranean Europe to Turkey, as well as from Northern Africa ( Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia). In the Middle East, it was collected from Lebanon after Müller et al. (2012b) had netted two specimens (male and female) while feeding on the nectar of Lythrum salicaria .
