Haematopota minuscula Austen, 1920 View in CoL

This species seems rare and local. According to zoogeographical analysis by Theodor (1965), minuscula is endemic of the Middle East. Austen (1920) and Theodor (1965) described female and male respectively from Palestine, using only one specimen each. Moreover, Müller et al. (2012c) collected few specimens from Sinai Peninsula-Egypt. In the Arab countries of the Middle East, H. minuscula recorded from Jordan, Palestine, and Saudi Arabia ( Abbassian-Lintzen 1964; Amoudi & Leclercq 1993; Al-Talafha et al. 2004; Al-Dhafer et al. 2009).
