Hybomitra mendica (Villeneuve, 1912) View in CoL

This species was recorded from Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, and Syria. Moreover, the species was recently recorded from Sudan, which indicates the Afrotropical affinity ( Croof et al. 2017). Theodor (1965) listed this species as Tabanus (Therioplectes) mendicus .
