Comments. Four species of Lispe have been recorded from New Caledonia: L. assimilis Wiedemann (as incerta Malloch ), L. cana (Walker) , L. cyrtoneurina Stein and L. nicobarensis Schiner (as binotata Becker ), all of them represented by a very small number of specimens. Lispe cyrtoneurina was recorded by Shinonaga et al. (1991) but was in fact a misidentification of L. bengalensis (Robineau-Desvoidy) (verified by Dr Shinonaga at NSMT in an email to the authors on 21 August 2009).
