Hylaeogena atroviridis ( Fisher, 1922) View in CoL
Pachyschelus atroviridis Fisher, 1922: 13 View in CoL .
Hylaeogena atroviridis: Hespenheide 1974: 106 View in CoL .
Hylaeogena insidiosa Cobos, 1978: 54 View in CoL , syn. nov.
Hylaeogena jakovlevi Obenberger, 1925: 144 View in CoL (synonymy by Hespenheide 1979: 112). Hylaeogena venezuela Bellamy, 1996: 242 View in CoL , syn. nov. (replacement name for H. bordoni Cobos, 1978: 55 View in CoL ). Hylaeogena bordoni Cobos, 1978: 55 View in CoL (synonymy due to preoccupation by Bellamy, 1996).
In comparing the type of H. jakovlevi View in CoL from NMPC and type images of H. insidiosa View in CoL from MNCN, no significant difference was found, hence all examined specimens are considered conspecific.
Examination and comparison of the holotype of H. bordoni Cobos 1978 View in CoL , syn. of H. venezuela Bellamy, 1996 View in CoL with the types of H. jakovlevi View in CoL detected no significant differences and conspecificity. In the description of H. bordoni, Cobos (1978) View in CoL mentioned a reduced number of teeth on the anal ventrite and used this detail inter alia for differentiation, in opinion to diagnose a female. The recent examination however shows that the holotype of H. bordoni View in CoL is male. The anal ventrite exhibits no teeth. A drawing of the male genitalia is given ( Fig 6 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ). Hylaeogena atroviridis View in CoL is apparently a successful species with a wide distribution range.
