Genus Victoriopisa Karaman & Barnard, 1979

Type species. Niphargus chilkensis Chilton, 1921 by monotypy.

Diagnosis. Head with lateral cephalic lobe entire. Basal flagellum of antenna 2 fused, much shorter than peduncle. Mandible with palp 3-articulated. Gnathopod 1 with carpus longer than or subequal to propodus, palm mainly transverse (oblique in part). Gnathopod 2 longer than gnathopod I, with coxal gill elongated. Pereopods 3–4 with linear bases. Pereopods 5–6 with dilated bases. Pereopod 7 basis expanded, progressively wider towards posterodistal corner. Uropod 3 extremely long, inner ramus scale-like, outer ramus with two elongated articles, second article long and slender. Telson cleft nearly to base.

Remarks. The genus Victoriopisa can be easily separated from the related genera of the Eriopisa group of the family Eriopisidae Lowry & Myers, 2013 by the absence of a sinus on the anteroventral margin of the head (see Fig. 2 b ).
