Type locality and specimens. Khakhea, Kalahari, leg. Prof. Schultze, zwei anscheinend erwachsene ♀.
Dimensions. Länge des Truncus 6 mm. [5.55; 6.69]
Oldest label. Blosssia obscura Krpln, Co-Typus, L. Schulze l., XII.04, c. IV.08, Kakir, Kalahari (Kraepelin handwriting).
Additional label. Blossiola obscura (Krpln.) . 1♀ —Typus—Kalahari. revid. Roewer 1931 No.-8269 ( Roewer handwriting).
Type material. ♀ Lectotype designated here (ZMH-A0000177). Right palp and legs I–IV missing.
Taxonomic remarks. Kraepelin used two adult females for his description and one of these is in the ZMB collection ( Moritz & Fisher, 1980; catalog no. 15535) while the other is in Hamburg and matches the description.
Collection remarks. Kraepelin noted Khakhea in Botswana (label reads Kakir) as the type locality. Both specimens were collected by Leonard Schultze during his expedition to Namaland and the Kalahari in 1903–1905 ( Schultze 1907).
Current systematic position. Daesiidae , Blossia obscura Kraepelin 1908b .
