Paragaleodes judaicus Kraepelin 1899 View in CoL
Kraepelin 1899: 206
Type locality and specimens. Mir bisher nur das ♀ bekannt, Syrien (Caifa), Palästina (Judagebirge, Jerusalem).
Dimensions. Truncuslänge 21 mm, Beins 25 mm.
Oldest label. Paragaleodes judaicus Krpln , ♀, ex typis, Mus. Königsberg II. VII.1899, Juda-Geb. Palaestina (Kraepelin handwriting).
Additional label. Galeodes judaicus (Krpl.) , 1♀ —ex Typus—Juda-Gebirge, Roewer revid. 1933— No. 9541 ( Roewer handwriting).
Type material. Syntype ♀ (ZMH-A0000201).
Taxonomic remarks. There is a single female at the ZMH that comes from the type series, but this specimen is juvenile and much smaller than the one described in the original description. Kraepelin mentions three different localities from Syria and Palestina, therefore two other female specimens may exist at the Königsberg Museum, and a lectotype should be designated there.
Collection remarks. The ZMH specimen is from the Judean Mountains south-east of Tel Aviv.
Current systematic position. Galeodidae , Paragaleodes judaicus Kraepelin 1899 .
