TYPE SPECIES: Scorpio maculatus DeGeer, 1778
DIAGNOSIS: Trichobothrial patterns orthobothriotaxic. Dorsal trichobothria of femur arranged in betaconfiguration. Tibial spurs absent on all legs. Sternum subtriangular. Movable fingers of pedipalps with six rows of granules and external and internal granules. Tibiae and tarsomeres of legs I–III with setae not arranged into bristlecombs. Carapace granulated, without carinae. Mesosoma dorsally with one median carina. Telson with subaculear tooth pointed or rounded. Total length under 70 mm.
