Distribution in Iran. Fars ( Seidenstücker 1957; Farahbakhsh 1961; Hoberlandt 1989; Modarres Awal 1997b), Golestan, Kerman, Mazandaran ( Hoberlandt 1989), Hormozgan ( Kiritshenko 1966; Wagner 1968, Hoberlandt 1989; Linnavuori 2004), Khorasan ( Hoberlandt 1955; Wagner 1961; Modarres Awal 1996a, 1997b), Sistan & Baluchestan ( China 1938; Wagner 1968; Hoberlandt 1955, 1989; Seidenstücker 1957; Farahbakhsh 1961; Modarres Awal 1997b).

General distribution. Afghanistan, Iraq, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Oriental Region.

Comments. On lucerne ( Medicago sativa ) ( Fabaceae ) ( Modarres Awal 1996a, 1997b), and Prosopis spicigera (Mimosaceae) ( Linnavuori 2004).

Note. This species was reported as O. variabilis from cotton fields in Iran by Farahbakhsh (1961).
