Basionym:― Salsola tetramera Botsch. in Botanicheskii Zhurnal 58: 831 (1973).

Type:― SOUTH AFRICA. Dist. Van Rhynsdorp [ Northern Cape Prov.]: 5 miles N of Koekenaap, on slopes below quartz patches, 16 September 1963, Barker 9925 (holotype NBG-0077439-0!) .
