( Figs 9–12 View FIGURES 9–16 )
Cladoctonus elongatus Schedl, 1967: 222 View in CoL
Type material. Holotype, male: [ Democratic Republic of the] Congo-Brazzaville, Mt. Fouari reservation near Gabon [-2.71, 11.72], 13.12.1963, by lamp light, leg. Endrödy-Younga [ HNHM].
Diagnosis, male. Length 2.2 mm, 2.4 × as long as wide; frons densely punctured, shiny, with scattered setae; elytral interstriae slightly rugose, punctures on average half the size of those in striae, all declivital interstriae with sharp granules.
Distribution: Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Comments. Body proportions and elytral structures are similar to C. amanicus , but as the frons indicates, the two types are of different sex. Cladoctonus amanicus also have a narrow impunctate band on the pronotum, not seen in C. elongatus . More samples are needed to evaluate if these two morphs are actually one sexually dimorphic species.
