PUBLISHED RECORDS IN NEW CALEDONIA. — Cohic (1956, 1958a).

DISTRIBUTION IN NEW CALEDONIA. — Grande Terre (La Foa, Mont-Dore and Poya counties).

HOST- PLANTS IN NEW CALEDONIA. — Citrus spp., Coffea spp., Eucalyptus deglupta , Eugenia spp., Litchi chinensis , Mangifera indica , Morinda citrifolia , Plumeria acuminata , Psidium spp., Schinus terebinthifolius , Spathodea campanulata , Syzygium spp. ( Brun & Chazeau 1986; Williams & Watson 1990), recently collected on Carissa macrocarpa , Oxera spp. and Pycnandra sp.

OTHER RECORDS. — Almost cosmopolitan.

BIOLOGICAL AGENTS. — Cryptolaemus montrouzieri ( Coleoptera : Coccinellidae ) and several species of Chrysopidae (Neuroptera) .

NOTES. — According to Cohic (1958a), this species and Ceroplastes rubens were the two soft scale insect species most associated with production of sooty mould growing on their honeydew, especially on Plumeria and guava trees.
