Previous records from Egypt. Cairo (30°02'24"N, 31°15'48"E) (as Pleurotropis amaurocoelus, Waterston 1915 ).
Distribution. Afrotropical and Palaearctic.
Host records. In Egypt, it has been reported from a larva of Anatrachyntis simplex (Walsingham) ( Lepidoptera : Cosmopterigidae ) in cotton bolls ( Waterston 1915).
