scientific name

Acronychia pedunculata (L.) Miq.
status

Jambolifera pedunculata Linnaeus , Species Plantarum 1: 349. 1753.

“Habitat in India.” RCN: 2677.

Lectotype (Hartley in Taxon 23: 435. 1974; Nair in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 58. 1993): Herb. Hermann 2: 82, No. 139 (BM-000621776).

Generitype of Jambolifera Linnaeus , nom. rej.

Current name: Acronychia pedunculata (L.) Miq. ( Rutaceae ).

Note: Jambolifera Linnaeus , nom. rej. in favour of Acronychia J. R. Forst. & G. Forst.

Although Merrill (Interpret. Rumph. Herb. Amb.: 394. 1917) stated that this was based “primarily on” the Flora Zeylanica account number 139, this does not constitute formal typification. Hartley (in Taxon 23: 435. 1974) referred to the Hermann element as “type” and this is accepted, with Nair subsequently having restricted this choice to one of the several specimens involved.
