Currently, six described species are assigned to this genus; names of five of them are listed by Lorenz (2005) as synonyms of Selina westermanni Mots. We believe that a revision is necessary. Selina , Homethes , and Aeolodermus are the only known members of Lachnophorini found in the Eastern Hemisphere.
