( Figs. 15 View FIGURES 8 – 15 , 39 View FIGURES 35 – 40 , 52 View FIGURES 47 – 52 , 64 View FIGURES 59 – 64 , 66 View FIGURE 66 )
Type material. Holotype: ♂, Philippines, Mindanao Island, Zamboanga del Norte, Mt. Dapiak, 300–500m, 10 viii 1993, in RMNH, leg. Abella. Paratype: ♂, without data, in RMNH.
Etymology. Zamboanga , a noun in apposition, referring to the type locality, Zamboanga Province in Mindanao Island.
Description of holotype male. Head: Labium pale, mandible bases pale with dark mark. Labrum black except for yellow anterior 1/4. Genae pale, pale colour continued to eye margin and narrowly along eye margin from ridge of frons to level of antennal sockets. Anteclypeus pale with dark central marking adjacent to postclypeus. Postclypeus black. Frons black, with distinct ridge, anterior face with paired transverse yellow streaks separated centrally. Vertex black with metallic reflection. Pale vertical streak on antennal sockets, top of scape pale, rest of antennae brown. Remainder of head dark metallic green. Distinct tubercle situated anteriorly beside eye margin in postocular area.
Thorax: Prothorax dark metallic green except for pale transverse streak on crest of anterior lobe, pale lower part of propleuron and brown terminal parts of horns of posterior pronotal lobe. Shelf of posterior pronotal lobe ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 8 – 15 ) short, collarlike with corners produced into ca triangular spurs directed laterally and downward. Horns of posterior pronotal lobe moderately long, rearward and outward directed ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 8 – 15 ), reaching level of upper anterior corner of mesinfraepisternum. Synthorax ( Fig. 39 View FIGURES 35 – 40 ) with dorsal carina bearing short, rounded tubercle at ca 1/4 length. Mesinfraepisternum metallic green with partial pale border, Mesepisternum metallic green. Mesepimeron mostly metallic green with tiny streak along mesepleural suture in distal half and pale streak along interpleural suture in distal half, not reaching antealar carina ( Fig. 39 View FIGURES 35 – 40 ). Metepisternum pale, large metallic green marking adjacent to antealar carina, separated from small dark mark spanning metapleural suture, metepimeron otherwise pale. Legs with coxa and trochanter pale, femur and tibia pale with dark spines, blackish streaks on extensor surfaces and dark markings around joint. Tarsi yellowish darkening apically, without denticle. Wings hyaline with dark brown veins. Arc just off Ax2; Ac near Ax2; petiolation ceases before level of Arc. R4 arising at or just off subnodus; IR3 a little further distal. 14–15 Px in Fw, 13 Px in Hw. Pt brownish with pale margin, rectangular, costal side 2/3 length of subcostal side.
Abdomen: S1–2 dark dorsally, becoming pale on sides. S3–7 dorsally dark, paler laterally with narrow pale basal ring. S8 black dorsally, pale laterally, S9 black with pale apical lateral mark, S10 black. Cerci yellowish brown, slightly less than twice length of S10. Fork of upper branch at ca 1/3 length of upper branch ( Fig. 64 View FIGURES 59 – 64 ). In lateral view upper branch shaped as in Fig. 52 View FIGURES 47 – 52 , with tiny black internal tooth at tip (not visible in figures). In dorsal view spur ca 1/2 length of distance from S10 to fork, ca as long as wide and partly visible in lateral view. Lower branch of cercus short, white, vermiform with pointed tip at base of spur in lateral view. Paraprocts typical for genus.
Measurements (mm): abdomen including cerci 43, Hw 25.
Female. Unknown.
Diagnosis. This species is distinguished from all species except S. circularis by having the corners of the shelf of the posterior pronotal lobe produced into outward and rearward, but not upward, directed spurs. It differs from S. circularis in the shape of the spur of the upper branch of the cercus and in the entirely different profile of the anal appendages.
