Distribution: —Widespread in tropical and subtropical regions in Asia ( Cambodia, China, Thailand). In Vietnam, it occurs in Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, Kon Tum, and Lam Dong.
Habitat & Ecology: —Growing under the shade of the canopy in primary and secondary forests at 1000–2000 m elev.
Phenology: —Flowering and fruiting from June to December.
Vernacular name: —Xú hưƠng chevalieri.
Notes: — Lasianthus chevalieri was described by Pitard (1924) from a Vietnamese specimen (A. Chevalier 30838). This species was easily identified in the field in having elliptic-oblong leaves, secondary veins 9–11 on each side of midrib, calyx lobes 9–14 mm long, and fruits subglobose, crowned by long calyx lobes, pilose, orange when ripe.
