Comments. Brasilocaenis irmleri is related to the group of South American Caeninae with apically pointed forceps. It is easily distinguished from all Brasilocaenis species by the very long styliger plate with posterior margin rounded and forceps enlarged near base and narrow toward the apex, and fused to lateral margins of styliger plate (adapted from Puthz 1975).
