Type:—[FYR MACEDONIA] Mt Galičica, in rupestribus calcareis inter pagum Stenje et Konjsko, 20 June 1980, K. Micevski (holotype SKO).

Herbaceous perennial woody at base. Leaves greyish-white tomentose, segments narrowly lanceolate. Capitula narrowly ovoid; florets pinkish-purple. Phyllary appendages blackish-brown, narrowly triangular, with suberect to patent terminal spinule longer than the blackish-brown or whitish lateral cilia. Achenes puberulent; pappus longer than body of achene.

Endemic to SE Albania and SW part of FYR Macedonia, in the foothills of Mt Galičica within the National Park, near to Lake Megali Prespa. Flowering and fruiting June and July.

The terminal spinule of the phyllary appendage is longer than the lateral cilia and the pappus also longer than the body of achene (see Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 ), thus distinguishing C. galicicae from C. triniifolia subsp. campylacme with which it had been confused.
