Lectotype (Moberg & Jonsell in Cafferty & Jarvis in Taxon 53: 800. 2004): Herb. Burser XIV(2): 28 ( UPS) .

Generitype of Asperugo Linnaeus.

Current name: Asperugo procumbens L. View in CoL View at ENA ( Boraginaceae ).

Note: Several authors including Kazmi (in J. Arnold Arbor. 52: 118. 1971) and Qaiser (in Jafri & El-Gadi, Fl. Libya 68: 7. 1979) have indicated Herb. Linn. 189.1 ( LINN), a post-1753 addition to the herbarium, as the type. However, this is not original material for the name and is ineligible as lectotype.
