TYPE LOCALITY: "Gubon" [ Gabon] .

DISTRIBUTION: Nigeria to N Angola.

COMMENTS: Rosevear (1974) placed nigripes in Galeriscus . Kingdon (1977) considered jacksoni conspecific with nigripes ; however, Rosevear (1974) and Coetzee (19776) noted skull and skin differences.
