TYPE LOCALITY: Not given; fixed by Pocock (1941a) as " Nepal " .

DISTRIBUTION: Primorski Krai ( Russia); Korea; China, west along Himalayan foothills to NW Pakistan; isolates in S India, SE Asia, Taiwan, Sumatra, Java, and Borneo.

STATUS: CITES - Appendix III ( India); U.S. ESA - Endangered as M. f. chrysospila ; IUCN - Indeterminate as M. f. chrysospila .
