Orphilodes papuanus sp. nov.

Type material. Holotype (♀): “New GuineA NE: [ Papua New Guinea, Madang province] Mt. Wilhelm , Keglsugl, 10-14.VIII.1969 ” [hand written label] . Holotype deposited in Jiří HáVA , Private Entomological LAborAtory & Collection , Únětice u PrAHy, PrAgue- west , Czech Republic. Holotype specimen provided with red lAbel: “ HOLOTYPE Orphilodes papuanus sp. noV. Jiří HáVA det. 2015” .
Description.
Female: Body short, oval, very convex, brown, covered by a moderately long, dense, recumbent yellow and brown setations ( Figs. 1-2 View Figs ). Measurements (mm): TL 3.2 EW 2.0.
Head finely punctate with recumbent yellow setation. Labial and maxillary palpi brown. Pubescence on mentum denser. Mentum with deep more-or-less triangular impression. Mandibles about twice as wide as antennal scape, distorted, so that slender, bifid apex is displaced proximally and setose outer surface is apical. Antennae brown, composed of 11 antennomeres with a rather distinct 3 antennomered club ( Fig. 3 View Figs ). Eyes very large with brown microsetae. Median frontal ocellus present.
Pronotum punctate as head covered by entirely yellow, recumbent setation. Prosternal process short, broad and coarsely punctate, widest near posterior end. Hypomeron biconcave, finely punctate, with deep and well defined anterior antennal cavity and shallower, less well defined posterior femoral housing continuous with that on procoxa.
Scutellum brown, triangular with short, recumbent brown setation.
Elytra. Humera of each elytron coarsely punctate with one large bump, other parts finely punctate; each elytron with three transverse fasciae from yellow setation; humeral, median and posterior yellow, transverse fasciae not associated on the sutura ( Fig. 2 View Figs ). Epipleuron unicolorous, brown, with short yellow setation.
Mesosternum short and broad with longitudinal groove; metasternum on disc finely punctate, laterally coarsely punctate, covered by recumbent yellow setation. Metepisternum coarsely punctate covered by recumbent yellow setation.
Abdominal visible ventrites brown, finely punctate covered by recumbent yellow setation.
Legs brown with yellow setation; outer edges of tibiae with finer, short spines.
Male: So far unknown.
Differential diagnosis. The new species is similar to other known species, but differs from them by the characters mentioned in the following key.
