Conserved type (Clemants in Taxon 43: 473. 1994): Colombia. Santander: road above Río Chicamocha, 60km NNE of Barbosa, 1,700m, 9 May 1979 (fl.), Luteyn & al. 7616 (NY; iso- COL).

Generitype of Bejaria Linnaeus , orth. cons.

Current name: Bejaria aestuans L. View in CoL ( Ericaceae ).

Note: Presumably through a misreading of Mútis’ handwriting, Linnaeus consistently spelled the name “Befaria”. This has been corrected to “Bejaria” through conservation.
