Distribution: Arid regions of Senegal, Ethiopia, and probably Somalia.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Revised by Hutterer (1986 a). Specimens reported from Somalia by Heim de Balsac (1966 a) represent macarthuri ; see under that species. Includes debalsaci as a distinct subspecies; see Hutterer (1981 b).
