Taxonomic remarks. Storena irrorata belongs to an undescribed genus of the subfamily Zodariinae and was described on the basis of an immature spider which was indicated by Thorell (1887) as a juvenile female. Males and conspecific females of S. irrorata were later described in his subsequent work ( Thorell 1895) based on the specimens collected in Tharrawaddy by Oates and deposited in the collection of NHML. Subsequently, non-type specimens were collected from the type locality (Rangoon) and nearby regions (Palon and Prome); these specimens are deposited in the collections of MSNG and NHRS. New material recently collected from Burma was known from a small island at a distance of approximately 150 km from the type locality ( MHNG), suggesting that M. irrorata is abundant in this region.

Distribution. Burma, the Irrawaddy delta (Prome, Palon, Rangoon) southwards to Thai-Burmese border at the Isthmus of Kra (Taninthayi Division).
