Head as wide as long or slightly wider (0.28–0.30 mm) than long (0.28–0.295 mm), frontal rostrum 0.14– 0.145 mm wide and 0.07 mm long. Eyes well developed and prominent with more than 30 ommatidia. Last segment of maxillary palpi 0.17–0.175 mm long and 0.08–0.09 mm wide.

Pronotum wider (0.33–0.35 mm) than long (0.29–0.30 mm) with lateral antebasal foveae well impressed.

Elytra wider (0.60–0.625 mm) than long (0.50–0.525 mm) with protruding humeri. Discal fovea extended posteriorly in discal stria reaching half elytral length.

Abdomen with 1st tergite 0.18–0.19 mm long, basal impression extending on about 1/3 of tergite width.

Male. Antennae ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ) 0.74–0.78 mm long, club 0.30–0.31 mm long; scapus distinctly longer than wide; segment 2 long than wide; 3 slightly longer than wide and narrowed at the base; 4 slightly wider than long and wider than 5, segment 5 slightly longer than wide; 6 and 7 distinctly wider than long, 8 strongly wider than long and shorter than previous segments. Metaventrite with deep median impression. Femora and tibiae of all legs slightly thickened, posterior margin of mesotrochanters extended into long and sharp median spine. Mesotibiae with evident subapical spur on medial margin, metatibiae with strong apical spur. Surface of 2nd abdominal sternite slightly hollowed and with tuft of setae medially, 3rd abdominal sternite with median tuft of dense and erect setae. Aedeagus ( Figs. 14–15 View FIGURES 14 – 15 ) 0.32–0.34 mm long, dorsal apophysis of median lobe sinuate and canaliculate, with spine-like apex directed upwards and medially, with lateral margin at middle bearing long and stout spine-like apophysis, recurved and oriented medially. Ventral portion of median lobe distinctly shorter than dorsal apophysis, with apex, past middle, strongly curved medially and spine-like.

Female. Antennae ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ) 0.70 mm long, club 0.30 mm long, similar to these of male and only barely shorter and thinner.

Comparative notes. Tychus latebrosus sp. n. is similar to T. remaudierei Besuchet, 1969 but distinguished from the latter by the shape of long spine of the dorsal apophysis of the median lobe of aedeagus. Also, the 2nd abdominal sternite of male of T. remaudierei lacks dense and erect median tuft of setae (present in T. judaeus Besuchet, 1964 and T. latebrosus ).
