Basionym: Solidago linifolia L. (1753) .

Lectotype (Wijnands, Bot. Commelins: 83. 1983): [icon] " Jacobaea , linifolio, Hispanica et Ital. " in Boccone, Mus. Piante Rar. Sicilia: 60, t. 49. 1697.

Current name: Senecio nevadensis Boiss. & Reut. subsp. malacitanus (Huter) Greuter View in CoL ( Asteraceae ).

Note: Senecio linifolius (L.) L. (1763) , nom. illeg. is a new combination based on Solidago linifolia L. (1753) , and a later homonym of Senecio linifolius L. (1759) . López González (in Anales Jard. Bot. Madrid 44: 546. 1987), identified Senecio malacitanus Huter (1905) as the correct name in Senecio for this species, pre-dating two nomina nova that had been proposed ( Senecio linifoliaster G. López and Senecio lythroides Wijnands ).
