Nemotois augites 1938 , Caradja et Meyrick: 29. TL: China (Yunnan).

Nemophora augites: Kozlov, 1997b: 43 View in CoL .

Material examined. CHINA, Yunnan: 4♂, Mt. Yulong, Lijiang , 3250 m, 12/ 14.VI.1974, leg. Y Zhou & F Yuan, slide Nos. SH 20180, SH20328 .

Diagnosis. This species can be distinguished from its congeners by the forewing with black and dark yellowish brown scales, in the male genitalia by the valva with two triangular processes on the ventral margin and the median process of the transtilla short digitate.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1‒6 ). Male wingspan 22.5−24.5 mm.

Head: Vertex yellow; frons brownish yellow. Eye interocular index 0.58−0.64. Proboscis dark brown, with yellow scales in basal 1/4. Labial palpus 1.5−1.6 × vertical eye diameter; yellow on inner surface, dark brown on outer surface, with black hairs. Antenna 2.8−2.9 × length of forewing; scape dark blue; flagellum yellowish brown except dark brown in basal 1/6.

Thorax: Mesonotum purplish bronzy except pale yellow laterally; tegula purplish bronzy except blue distally. Forewing ground color dark yellowish brown, with dense black scales from beyond outer fascia to apex; four bluish purple streaks, edged with black scales: first streak from base to middle along costal margin, second streak from base to 2/5 of wing along R 1, third streak from base to 4/5 of cell along posterior margin, fourth streak from near base to beyond middle of wing along 1A+2A; three black lines: first line from basal 2/5 to near 3/4 of cell, second line from near base to near middle of wing along CuP, third line from near base to 1/3 along dorsum; inner and outer fasciae purplish bronzy, edged with dark brown scales, inner fascia slightly curved outward medially, outer fascia curved inward, medial fascia yellow, narrowed medially; fringe dark yellowish brown. Hindwing brown with bronzy luster, except light brown between costal margin and Rs; fringe bronzy. Foreleg yellow; midleg yellow except tibia blue dorsally; hindleg yellow except tibia purplish bronzy apically. Epiphysis dark brown, at distal 1/3 of tibia, not reaching apex of tibia.

Abdomen: Black.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 27‒32 ). Socius small, ovoid, length 1.2 × width. Tegumen without median ridge. Uncus triangular, slightly concave anteromedially. Valva separated basally, narrowly rounded apically, costal margin almost straight, ventral margin with two triangular processes at basal 1/3 and convex at distal 2/5; sacculus reaching near apex of ventral margin. Transtilla slightly concave anteromedially, with subtriangular processes anterolaterally; median process short digitate, reaching middle of tegumen apically. Vinculum 2.1 × length of valva, broadly rounded anteriorly. Phallus 0.91 × length of vinculum, swollen basally, with a belt of short spines from distal 1/3 to 1/7 and two sclerotized belts from distal 1/4 to near apex ( Fig. 29a View FIGURES 27‒32 ). Juxta 0.68 × length of phallus; lateral arm 0.34 × length of arrow head.
