Type material. CHINA, Hebei: Holotype ♂, Mt. Heilong , 1320 m, 5.VII.2016, leg. SN Zhao & SR Li, slide No. SH 20091 . Paratype: 1♂, 6.VII.2016, other same data as holotype .
Diagnosis. The new species can be distinguished from its congeners in the male genitalia by having a broad rectangular transtilla. It is similar to N. amatella ( Staudinger, 1892) and N. borealis sp. nov. in appearance, but can be distinguished by the tegumen with a semicircular plate, and the ventral margin of the valva roundly convex at basal 1/5 and 1/3. In N. amatella , the tegumen lacks a plate, and the ventral margin of the valva is slightly sinuate in basal 2/3; in N. borealis , the tegumen has a triangular plate, and the ventral margin of the valva is obliquely straight in basal 2/3.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 13‒18 ). Male wingspan 19.0−20.0 mm.
Head: Vertex black; frons purplish brown. Eye interocular index 0.50−0.52. Proboscis yellowish brown. Labial palpus 1.1−1.2 × vertical eye diameter; first and second palpomeres yellow, with black hairs; third palpomere brown. Antenna 3.3−3.5 × length of forewing; scape dark bluish brown except dark purplish bronzy on anterior margin; flagellum grayish brown except dark brown in basal 1/6.
Thorax: Mesonotum golden yellow; tegula bronzy. Forewing ground color brownish yellow, purplish bronzy along costal margin from beyond outer fascia to apex, bronzy along termen; black rectangular speckle near base between Sc and anterior margin of cell; three streaks, edged with black scales: first streak purplish bronzy, from base to near middle along costal margin, second streak golden yellow, from base to 2/3 of cell on posterior margin, third streak yellowish brown, from near base to beyond 1/3 of wing along 1A+2A; three black lines: first line from base to 1/3 of wing along R 1, second line from base to 2/3 of cell on anterior margin, slightly swollen apically, third line from basal 1/6 to 2/5 of wing along CuP; inner and outer fasciae grayish brown, edged with black scales, with purple luster, inner fascia curved outward in middle, outer fascia straight, extending outward anteriorly, medial fascia yellow, slightly oblique inward from costal margin, narrowed medially; seven black stripes radiating from distal 1/3 to apex and termen along veins from R 4 to CuA 2 respectively; fringe dark brown. Hindwing grayish brown except light brown between costal margin and Rs; fringe dark brown. Foreleg with coxa purplish bronzy, femur and tibia yellow ventrally, purplish bronzy dorsally, tarsus yellow; midleg yellow except tibia purplish bronzy dorsally; hindleg yellow except tibia bronzy apically. Epiphysis grayish brown, at basal 2/5 of tibia, reaching apex of tibia.
Abdomen: Dark brown.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 39 View FIGURES 39‒43 ). Socius ovoid, length 1.58 × width. Tegumen without median ridge, with a semicircular plate from posterior 2/3 to 1/3. Uncus reniform. Valva separated basally, finely serrate at apex, slightly concave at basal 1/3 on costal margin, roundly convex at basal 1/5 and 1/3 on ventral margin; sacculus reaching near apex of ventral margin. Transtilla broad rectangular, triangularly produced anterolaterally; median process narrow triangular, reaching posterior 1/3 of tegumen apically. Vinculum 2.7 × length of valva, broadly rounded anteriorly. Phallus 1.2 × length of vinculum, with a pair of sclerotized belts from distal 2/5 to near apex, denticles at distal 1/4 and spines from distal 1/4 to 1/8 ( Fig. 39a View FIGURES 39‒43 ). Juxta 0.65 × length of phallus; lateral arm 0.27 × length of arrow head.
Female unknown.
Distribution. China (Hebei).
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin latus and rectangulus, referring to the broad rectangular transtilla.
