Facultatively epiphytic herbs. Distribution in PILA 600–1700 m, low elevation mixed forest, mixed forest in transition to low elevation forest, mixed forest in transition to cloud forest. Global distribution: Costa Rica to Ecuador. Records: D. Santamaría 6481 (BM, INB, PMA), G. Herrera 5377 (INB).
