Specimens examined:— CHINA. Heilongjiang Province: vicinity of Hulin, Dongfanghong, dead branches of Salix sp. , 3
September 2003, L. Vasilyeva, VLA P-1503.
Stromata erumpent from bark with a circular or elliptic, dark-brown ectostromatic disc 1–1.8 mm diam., surrounded by a black line within the substrate; perithecia monostichous or distichous, singly erumpent, 300–350 µm diam., with short and indistinctly stellate at the top ostiolar necks. Asci clavate, paraphysate, 25–30 × 4–6 µm in spore bearing part, stalks up to 40–50 µm long, containing 8 biseriate apical ring indistinguishable. Ascospores one-celled, allantoid, slightly yellowish, 4–6 × 0.7–1 µm.
The species seems to occur in only northern-amphipacific area and have a ‘Bering disjunction’ (cf. Vasilyeva et al. 2009).
