Discussion: The spelling of the name was clarified by Corbet (1978 b) and Motokawa (1999); dsinezumi was placed on the Official List of Specific Names; see the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature (1983). Includes chisai , but not quelpartis and orii ; see Corbet (1978 c) and Iwasa et al. (2001). The taxon hosletti described by Jameson and Jones (1977) from Taiwan is now included in C. shantungensis (see Jiang and Hoffmann, 2001). Geographic variation of Japanese populations studied by Motokawa (2003 b). Allozyme data studied by Ruedi et al. (1993) place C. dsinezumi close to C. fuliginosa , C. malayana , and C. grayi .
