Small fern with an erect rhizome and fronds in clumps, with lanceolate scales toothed at their base, Actiniopteris radiata has a petiole of 5-15 cm long, sparsely scaly (Fig. 5a). The scales are marginate and reddish at the base. The lamina is flabellate, 2 to 4 cm long and 3-5 cm wide, semi-circular. It is divided into linear lobes, toothed at the top (Fig. 5b). The texture of the leaf is leathery. Actiniopteris radiata usually grows on rocks, cliff edges and rocky terrain, especially in dry forests.
