Type Locality: China, "Obere Jangtse-Talschlucht bei Batang" (upper Yangtze Gorge, Drupalong, south of Batang).
Vernacular Names: Dwarf Bharal.
Distribution: China (Upper Yangtze Gorge in W Sichuan and adjacent parts of Tibet and N Yunnan).
Conservation: IUCN – Endangered.
Discussion: A separate species according to Groves (1978 c:183). See Wang and Hoffmann (1987, Mammalian Species, 278).
