3.1.3. Stromitrema spp
Stromitrema koshewnikowi (Skrjabin and Massino, 1925) was sequenced by Hildebrand et al. (2019) and Aldhoun et al. (2018). Distinction of this species was confirmed by sequencing four additional individuals from H. rustica , a primary host of this species in Central Europe ( Table 1, Figs. 1 View Fig , Fig. 3 View Fig , Fig. 4 View Fig ). A morphologically similar, but not identical, helminth was found in Acrocephalus scirpaceus . Molecular analysis confirmed that this is a new Stromitrema species with only two known individuals collected from reed warblers ( Stromitrema sp. n. 2, described below as Stromitrema acrocephali , Table 1; Fig. 1 View Fig , nodal support 97%; Fig. 2 View Fig , nodal support 95%; Fig. 4 View Fig , nodal support 99%).
