Vernacular Names: Large-spotted Civet.

Distribution: Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia (West), Thailand, Vietnam.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Does not include V. civettina ; reviewed by Lindsay (1928), Pocock (1941 a), and Wozencraft (1989 b). Corbet and Hill (1992) raised doubts as to their separation.
