Type species: Mafikengia ciliata sp. nov.

Etymology. The name of the new genus is a feminine noun formed after the type locality, the city of Mafikeng in the North West province of South Africa, close to the border with Botswana.

Diagnosis. See diagnosis of the type species below.

The genus Mafikengia gen. nov. has a single species, Mafikengia ciliata sp. nov., known only from the male sex.
