Notes
Questionable status. Reported from Greece by Akoumianaki (2004). In the Mediterranean also reported (questionably) from Spain / France ( Ramos 1976b). Leitoscoloplos kerguelensis is a widely reported but much confused species with several incorrect re-descriptions and many wrongly identified specimens ( Mackie 1987). The species is probably restricted to the Kerguelen Islands area and the Mediterranean material belongs to Leitoscoloplos kerguelensis sensu Ramos, 1976 which constitutes an undescribed species ( Blake 2017).
