Bembidium morulum LeConte, 1863c: 19. Type locality: «Hudson’s Bay Territory" (original citation), restricted to "Churchill, Manit[oba]" by Lindroth (1963b: 389). Two syntypes in CMNH (collection Ulke).
Bembidion browni Lindroth, 1955a: 73. Type locality: "Churchill, Manitoba" (original citation). Holotype (♂) in CNC [# 6572]. Synonymy established by Lindroth (1963b: 389). Note. Lindroth (1954b: 158) proposed the name earlier but he did not meet the requirements of availability (ICZN, Article 13.1) at the time.
Distribution.
This species is known from Newfoundland to central Alaska, south to northeastern British Columbia and southern Alberta in the Rocky Mountains (Lindroth 1963b: 389). Fossil remnants of this species, dated between about 10,400 and 28,000 years B.P., have been unearthed in eastern Minnesota, northeastern Wisconsin, Illinois (Schwert 1992: 77), Iowa (Baker et al. 1986: 96; Schwert 1992: 77), central North Dakota (Ashworth and Schwert 1992: 260), and Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia (Miller 1997: 250).
