Distribution. Hawaiian Is, Oahu I., 403– 470 m. Remarks. Fisher (1907) reported 12 tentacles, 10 polian vesicles of unequal size, and aggregations of wheels. His specimen and ossicle meaurements are given in Table 3. H. L. Clark (1921) named the species. Fisher (1907) noted that this species was close to Taeniogyrus contortus (Ludwig) , and distinguished it by the larger number of polian vesicles (10, unequal) and size and form of the sigmoid ossicles. We found the wheels of Sigmodota dubia as reported by Fisher (1907) to be significantly larger than our measurements for Sigmodota contorta , but the hooks not significantly smaller, as was judged by Fisher (1907) (see Table 3).
