Revised description. Small, slender fusiform shell; apical angle ~50°. Protoconch of 1.5 convex, smooth whorls. Teleoconch of up to six whorls. Suture shallowly deeply incised, undulating. Early teleoconch whorls convex with weakly concave subsutural ramp, rounded shoulder and convex periphery. Axial sculpture of eight broad ribs separated by narrower interspaces, overrun by five broad spiral cords separated by narrow grooves. Last whorl attaining ~65% of total height; shallow subsutural ramp, rounded shoulder, convex periphery, strongly constricted at base. Axial sculpture of ten ribs, forming fold-like swellings on subsutural ramp, fading over base. Fasciole indistinct. Aperture ovate, moderately wide. Outer lip slightly thickened by terminal varix with 14 lirae extending deep within aperture. Anal canal narrowly incised, indistinct. Siphonal canal moderately long, open, moderately narrow, slightly bent to the left. Columella broadly excavated, smooth, twisted at siphonal canal. Discussion. Euthria reussi is extraordinarily abundant at Steinebrunn ( Austria) but unknown from other localities. It was placed in Janiopsis Rovereto, 1899 by Sieber (1958) but lacks the characteristic prominent parietal and anal denticles and the large denticles in the outer lip (see Harzhauser et al. 2024 for Paratethyan Janiopsis species). We place this species in Euthria based on its resemblance with the extant Cape Verde species flock, comprising Euthria taeniopsoides Fraussen & Afonso, 2008 , Euthria emilioi Fraussen & Afonso, 2011 and Euthria calderoni Rolán, 1985 . These species differ from Euthria reussi in their slenderer shells and higher spire (see Fraussen & Swinnen 2016).

Paleoenvironment. Shallow marine, inner neritic in seagrass environments.

Distribution in Central Paratethys. Badenian (Middle Miocene): Vienna Basin: Steinebrunn ( Austria) (Hoernes & Auinger 1885).
