Paratypes. Brazil: Paraná: 1 ♀, Colombo, Embrapa campus, S25.3215° W49.1579°, 920 m, 1.v.2019, Roupala montana var. brasiliensis , park ( D. Burckhardt & D. L. Queiroz) #339(7) ( NHMB; dry mounted; NMB-PSYLL0003055) GoogleMaps ; 3 ♂, 4 ♀, 8 immatures, same as holotype but ( NHMB, UFPR; dry and slide mounted, 70% ethanol; NMB-PSYLL0003056–NMB-PSYLL0003062) .
Description. Adult. Colouration ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ). Yellowish-orange. Vertex greyish, genal processes white. Antenna yellow, segments 1, 9–10 entirely dark brown to black, 4–7 greyish except for yellow base, segment 8 in apical half dark brown to black. Thorax dorsally with brown and dark brown dots and patches, mesoscutum sometimes with brown longitudinal stripes. Legs whitish; femora with each a subbasal and subapical dark brown ring; pro- and mesotarsi dark brown. Forewing ( Figs 1A View FIGURE 1 , 2E View FIGURE 2 ) with distinct dark brown band along apical margin and each a brown patch at the base of cells r 2 and m 2 as well as the apical portion of clavus. Hindwing whitish. Abdominal sclerites and terminalia dark brown. Male subgenital plate and paramere partly ochreous.
Structure. Body ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ) 2.3–2.7 mm long ( 2 ♂, 5 ♀). Head ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ) with subtrapezoidal vertex, 0.4 times as long as wide; genal processes very small, forming blunt transverse tubercles, indistinctly separated from vertex; eyes transversely oval. Antenna 1.0‒1.2 times as long as head width; antennal segment 10 1.7 times as long as its diameter; length ratio of antennal segment 10 and terminal setae as 1.0: 2.0: 1.8. Rostrum 0.3‒0.5 times head width. Mesepimeron flattened, lacking tubercle. Metapostnotum slightly arched medially. Metatibia 0.7‒0.8 times as long as head width, with 8 apical spurs. Forewing 2.1–2.6 times as long as head width, 1.6–2.0 times as long as wide; pterostigma broadest in the middle, relatively short; surface spinules in cell r 2 above bifurcation of vein M forming irregular squares or rhombi. Terminalia as in Figs 3A–C View FIGURE 3 , 4D, E View FIGURE 4 . Male proctiger two-segmented, forming angular lobe posteriorly. Paramere as long as proctiger; in profile, digitiform, lacking small subapical lobe posteriorly; inner face with relatively widely space thick bristles in apical third. Distal segment of aedeagus shorter than proctiger, with small hook-shaped apico-ventral dilation. Female proctiger as long as head width, relatively abruptly narrowing to apical spiniform process; circumanal ring 0.3 times as long as proctiger; female subgenital plate 0.5 times as long as proctiger, relatively abruptly narrowing to apical spiniform process.
Measurements (in mm) ( 1 ♂, 1 ♀). Head width 0.82–0.90; antenna length 0.94–1.00; forewing length 1.92‒ 2.14; male proctiger length 0.32; paramere length 0.32; length of distal segment of aedeagus 0.26; female proctiger length 0.84.
Fifth instar immature. Colouration. Yellowish with brown dots. Antenna dark brown, segments 1, 2 and basal half of segment 3 yellow. Thoracic sclerites dark brown.
Structure. Body ( Fig. 5A View FIGURE 5 ) 0.9 times as long as wide. Antennal flagellum with pointed sectasetae. Minute clavate setae on thorax dense ( Fig. 5D View FIGURE 5 ). Fore- and hindwing pads lacking dorsal sectasetae. Caudal plate broadly rounded posteriorly ( Fig. 5A View FIGURE 5 ); with, at most, each a submedian longitudinal row of mostly blunt sectasetae. Large marginal, mostly blunt sectasetae in following numbers: forewing pad 3–6, hindwing pad 2, abdomen (one half only) 6–7.
Measurements (in mm) ( 2 immatures). Body length 1.36‒1.38; antenna length 0.56‒0.58; forewing pad length 0.72.
Etymology. Apollo was the Olympian god of science, prophecy and oracles, music, song and poetry, among many other things.
Host plant. Roupala montana var. brasiliensis (Klotzsch) K.S. Edwards ( Proteaceae ).
Distribution. Brazil ( Paraná).
