Type Locality: Uganda, Lado Enclave, Rhino Camp.

Vernacular Names: Flat-headed Shrew.

Distribution: Ethiopia, Uganda, Sudan, Dem. Rep. Congo, Nigeria.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Closely related to fuscomurina , if not conspecific; see Heim de Balsac (1968 d) and Hutterer (1983 b).
