Material examined. 1 larva, Lord Howe Island [exact locality not specified], K. Bishop, 2–11.iii.1977, NMV.
Remarks. The single larva identified by David Cartwright as belonging in this genus is illustrated in Figs 18, 19 View FIGURES 18, 19 .
The identifying features of polycentropodid larvae are body campodeiform; head elongate-rounded, clypeus broad anteriorly, constricted at just under half length, labrum a simple sclerotised plate; pronotum sclerotised, other thoracic nota membranous, legs subequal; abdomen without gills, with a lateral row of uneven-length setae from about segment II to IX, anal appendages free, claw strong and with or without teeth. In other Plectrocnemia the anal claw is long and slender and lacks teeth.
