A fairly rare and localized species, described from Malta and initially considered an endemic ( Baccetti 1966; Schembri 1984). Subsequently, it was found to occur in Pantelleria and later in Tunisia ( Stalling 2014; Iorio et al. 2019).
Distribution. Restricted to Malta, Pantelleria and Tunisia.
