DISTRIBUTION. — Indian Ocean (G.B. Sowerby [third of the name], 1894). Pacific Ocean: from southern Japan to the Philippines (Kosuge & Suzuki 1985), “coral reef in intertidal zone to 20 m deep” (Tsuchiya 2000). New Caledonia and Loyalty Islands, empty shells intertidal to 20 m. Southward range extension to the southwest Pacific .
REMARKS. — Protoconch of 2.6 conical whorls, 550 Μm high, 500 Μm wide at the base. Protoconch-I of about 1 whorl, eroded in the available material. Protoconch-II of about 1.6 whorls, with 2 spiral keels (the abapical starting early on the second protoconch whorl, the adapical starting at the end of the second whorl), sculptured with a series of subsutural prosocline threads and a series of oblong tubercules over each keel.
